  Neighborhood Programs

The following are a list of programs the City of West Jordan has available for residents, including programs with rebates that save residents money:

Neighborhood Traffic Management Program
The Neighborhood Traffic Management Program (NTMP) for local residential streets represents the commitment of the City of West Jordan to the safety and livability of residential neighborhoods. The program provides a process for identifying and addressing problems related to speeding, excessive volumes and safety on streets classified as "local residential streets." Under the program, the engineering department will work with residents within neighborhoods to evaluate the type and severity of traffic problems. If the required approval by residents and the City Council is obtained, the city will install traffic management devices, such as traffic circles, diverters and speed humps, to manage the pattern and flow of neighborhood traffic.  Download and review the
Neighborhood Traffic Management Program details.

 Adopt-A-SPOT logo  Adopt-A-SPOT Program
The Adopt-A-SPOT program is offered by the City of West Jordan Public Works Department to provide civic volunteers an opportunity to help clean City streets and parks and receive public recognition for their efforts. The acryonym "SPOT" stands for "Streets, Parks, Open Space and Trails." It is a two-year voluntary commitment to clean up litter in a designated park area or along a designated section of street. Program participation requires a minimum of four cleanups per year. The City of West Jordan, Public Works Department will erect a sign in the area with the name of the group who has contracted to perform the cleanup.

Landscape Irrigation Rebates

The Central Utah Water Conservancy District will share the costs of purchasing some types of water conserving landscape irrigation equipment. Residents can qualify for up to $275. Download the following Irrigation rebate form for details.

Street Tree Program
Participating in the City's treescape program can yield plenty of green!
Residents can recoup up to 50 percent of the cost of approved trees (up to $25 per tree) when they plant trees from the official Urban Forestry list. Residents can be reimbursed for up to two trees, and those living on a corner lot can be reimbursed for up to four trees. Trees must be an approved tree from the official Urban Forestry tree list. The tree must be at least 1 inch in diameter, and you can purchase your tree anywhere. But if you purchase the tree from Glover Nursery, you will also receive a discount. This could make the purchase of your selected trees very reasonable and you can help the environment at the same time. Download the Street Tree Program form for information.

$50 Low-flow Toilet Rebates
Flush for conservation
The toilet is the highest water-consuming device in the home, making up about 27 percent of indoor water use. Depending on the type of toilet you have, modifying the amount of water it flushes or replacing it with an ultra-low flush toilet could save you lots of water. If you take advantage of the City's low-flow toilet rebate program, you can also receive a $50 credit on your water bill for each high-flow toilet (older than 1992) that is replaced with a low-flow toilet.
For complete guidelines, click the
Toilet Rebate Guidelines form.

Water-Wise Plant Rebates
Let the City spring for your plants!
Did you know that about two thirds of Utah's drinking water is used for outdoor landscape irrigation? And many of us give our yards twice as much water as it actually needs. There are many beautiful water-wise plants available. To encourage residents to incorporate water-wise plants in their landscapes, the City is offering a $50 water-wise plant rebate. For complete guidelines, click the Water Wise Plant Rebates form.
