Justice Center to be Renamed After Fallen Officer Thomas M. Rees Feb. 17, 2017
WEST JORDAN, UTAH – The City of West Jordan will be holding a ceremony to rename the Justice Center after fallen officer Thomas M. Rees. The renaming/rededication ceremony will be held Thursday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. at 8040 S. Redwood Road.
Groundbreaking ceremony for new West Jordan public works building Feb. 14, 2017
WEST JORDAN, UTAH – West Jordan City officials will break ground for a public works building Thursday, Feb. 16 at 10 a.m. at 7960 S. 4000 West. The building will be built on the site of the old facility, which was dedicated in 1986 when the city had 35,744 people. Today, West Jordan has over 110,000 residents.
Police Ask for Help to Locate Missing Man   Dec. 21, 2016 
WEST JORDAN, UTAH – West Jordan Police are seeking the public’s help in locating an overdue party. On Dec. 19, Paul Meiling drove to Pocatello, Idaho. Paul was last seen at approximately 12 p.m. at the Costco fueling station in Pocatello, Idaho.    
Volunteers to Make Survival Bracelets for Troops During West Jordan Veterans Day Event   Nov. 10, 2016 
WEST JORDAN, UTAH – What started out as a small project with a goal to make 300 paracord “survival” bracelets to give deployed troops, has captured the interest of volunteers of all ages. In honor of Veterans Day, volunteers have signed up to make 1,800 survival bracelets Friday, Nov. 11 at City Hall and other locations.    
2016 Extra Mile Day Recipients Nov. 1, 2016
Each year the City of West Jordan joins with other cities across the nation to recognize individuals who create positive change in our community through their extra mile efforts in volunteerism and service. As part of this year’s “Extra Mile Day,” the City Council honored several individuals who go the extra mile and give back to our community both personally and professionally including Al Richards, Melissa Worthen, Jennifer Campbell, Bonnie Hutchings, and Craig Dearing.
Volunteers to Plant 76 Trees to Replace Those Damaged by Vandals Nov. 1, 2016
WEST JORDAN, UTAH – Volunteers will be planting 76 trees Saturday, Nov. 5, to replace those damaged by vandals. The planting project kicks off at 8 a.m. with a hot breakfast cooked up by members of the West Jordan City Council. Volunteers will meet at the small pavilion in Veterans Memorial Park, 1825 W. 8030 South.

Police Sergeant to Surprise Boy with Bicycle April 21, 2016
WEST JORDAN, UTAH  – West Jordan Police Sergeant Brower is going to present a bicycle to a boy who had one stolen. The presentation is a surprise to the boy and his mother and will take place April 23 at 4 p.m. at the Sandy Expo Center during the Hometown Living Expo.

On March 19 between 3:30 a.m. and 6 a.m., these suspects are believed to have abandoned a stolen vehicle in the are of 3400 West and 8395 South.

Crosswalk Enforcement Nov. 28
WEST JORDAN, UTAH – On Nov. 28, the West Jordan Police Department will be participating in a county wide effort to enforce the safe and proper uses of crosswalks. Our purpose is to raise pedestrian safety awareness and identify inattentive drivers. There will be several officers out observing crosswalks and enforcing violations. West Jordan to open 5600 West from 6200 South to 7000 South
WEST JORDAN, UTAH – West Jordan, in partnership with UDOT and West Valley City, will reopen 5600 West from 6200 South to 7000 South on July 24. The roadway has been closed to traffic since February to accommodate an accelerated construction schedule as crews reconstructed and widened the road. July 22, 2015
