The City Manager is the appointed Chief Executive Officer of the city and as such is responsible for all employees and departments. The mission of the West Jordan City Manager's Office is to enhance the quality of life in our community by implementing the policies of the City Council through the daily direction and coordination of city activities, foster a spirit of teamwork and customer service among city employees, recommend policy changes to the City Council, and ensure adherence to all applicable laws and ordinances.

The City Manager's Office also enhances the quality of life in our community by providing accountable, progressive, responsive and open government with efficient and cost-effective municipal services while treating our residents, businesses and employees with fairness, respect and honesty.

Office Directive
The City Manager's Office is responsible for the implementation of administrative policies, procedures and programs adopted by the City Council. These tasks are completed through the planning, research and management as well as an ongoing evaluation of the city's available resources.

Complaints Regarding Elected Officials
The City of West Jordan’s Ethics Ordinance allows for a process of an “Ethics Complaint” to be filed against the Mayor or another City Council Member under certain circumstances. An Ethics Complaint requires that witnesses and evidence be provided that proves the violation of one or more ethics laws or other legal duties by a City Council Member. Three qualified Complainants must sign the Complaint and then present their case at a confidential hearing (closed to the public). The Complaint must be kept confidential. An incomplete Complaint or one which does not state at least one actionable violation may be dismissed without a hearing being held.

Any false statements or breach of privacy/confidentiality regarding the Ethics Complaint process will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
