To obtain a Non-Residential Building Permit, bring in a completed permit application, an application deposit (see application) and two copies of the following: All new non-residential structures and remodels over 3,000 sq. ft. require two sets of professionally designed plans stamped by the Utah licensed architect and/or engineer who designed them including: design criteria soils reports structural calculations specifications building plans and details energy certification Non-Residential Permit Requirements Approval letter from South Valley Water Reclamation Facility – call (801) 566-7711 Special Inspection form stamped by the engineer or architect. Energy certification form stamped by the engineer or architect. Salt Lake Valley Health Dept. approval for food establishments – call (801) 468-2750 Approvals from City Building & Safety Division, Planning and Zoning Division, City Engineering Division, City Fire Marshal, Office of Development Assistance (ODA), and Utilities Division.
